AI Governance Is Governance

To those of us who have worked in Information Governance, that is not at all surprising.
A lot of organizations are moving quickly on AI adoption while moving slowly on oversight. New tools are being introduced before core questions are answered:
Who owns decisions?
How are risks reviewed?
What data is being used?
How are outputs checked?
How are records retained?
Who is accountable when something goes wrong?
This is not just a technology issue. It is a governance issue.
Strong organizations build guardrails before scale. Clear ownership, practical policies, staff training, and review processes matter just as much as the tool itself.
The best governance practices are not new. They are the same fundamentals healthy organizations are already using.
